HOUSEWORK CLT
Charlotte
Housework Charlotte was founded by Ariel Dominguez, aka the NC-based DJ and producer DOMii in 2018. The collective allows for all types of music collectors, producers, and DJs to gather, appreciate talent, and experience artists from all over the globe in a quality space with top notch sound. During the Housework Charlotte showcase this Saturday night, you’ll be able to see DOMii, Nat Black, and Maloka provide curated and unique musical experiences in their respective fields. More about each artist:
Fresh off releases on Maison Fauna, Brooklyn Fire Records, and Hau5trap, DOMii brings a unique and raw style with her live performances and original music that is only matched by impressive technical aptitude. As a DJ, there is no genre or style safe when DOMii is at the controls, but she remains an expert at maintaining that essential house groove.
Nat Black’s enthusiasm behind the decks comes from his deep love of electronic music and the influences he has carried throughout his career. Born in the San Francisco Bay area, he was exposed to the rebellious music of the Golden Gate scene growing up and took that spirit with him when he began to DJ as a teenager in Florida. Always riding the line between serious and playful, Nat’s sets span genres and his connection to the audience is what pushes him forward. When asked to classify his style he answered ‘I play other people’s music and sometimes my own.’ Nat Black is also partner on and resident of Bassment Charlotte.
Maloka, aka Justin Combs, is the founder and creator of Social Study, a company based in Charlotte, NC that curates immersive dance music house experiences. His forward-thinking style of deep electronic music ranges from deep and minimal vibes to tribal and psychedelic house and techno. His music evokes awareness and infuses positive energy into his fellow space travelers.
