DJ DEADNAME

DJ DEADNAME is a Triangle-based DJ/artist interested in dance music as a community-building ritual practice. Understanding the essence of mixing as a form of dialectical synthesis, they are interested in the generative capabilities of the decks when used as a medium for sonic conflict resolution. They are attracted to percussive texture, rhythmic syncopation, and harmonic grandeur. They are a founding member of local dance music collective PERMISSION, and have been a radio DJ at WXYC Chapel Hill 89.3FM since 2020.
